Program Description:
This course will provide a morning review on management of a variety of imaging findings on mammography, ultrasound, and MRI. There will also be an afternoon session on emerging imaging technologies including positron emission mammography, breast specific gamma imaging, and magnetic resonance imaging. In addition, a lunch seminar will focus on strategies to minimize medicolegal risk.
Program Objectives:
As a result of participating in this program, attendees will be able to:
• Appropriately evaluate and manage patients with breast masses, distortion, asymmetries, and
calcifications
• Evaluate the axilla in patients with newly diagnosed breast cancer
• Manage male patients presenting with breast complaints
• Understand basic principles of breast biopsy and the importance of radiologic-pathologic correlation
• Incorporate methods to minimize medicolegal risk into a breast imaging practice
• Describe emerging nuclear medicine techniques in managing patients with breast disease
• Review current indications for breast MRI at 1.5T and 3T
The NERRS would like to acknowledge Hologic, Philips, Dilon, Naviscan, and SenoRx for their support by exhibiting at this program. |
